Up up and away

The multiple Christmas's were a busy busy busy success! Lots of cheer and love, cookie baking and outdoors time, and many teary farewells. Sidenote: movie theaters in Austin are humongous.

But man after all of that, we're tired. We're so tired. We continue to deal with stupid BS like forgetting the charger to our tablet in Philly and having to find a Microsoft store in Austin for a replacement. Or realizing one of our "bluetooth" keyboards isn't actually bluetooth at all, good thing we have the other one. Or forgetting Ryan's hat, belt and my sunglasses leaving Austin this morning. Peanut butter is considered a "gel" by the TSA. We're too tired and dumb to plan right now... Get us out of the country! After a sleepy morning Austin to LA jaunt...

We chased the sunset for 14 hours to Taipei.

Guys, EVA Air is legit. The blankets are awesome and you get a floss stick with every meal. I love me a floss stick!!
And don't forget to record every waking moment of your lives like this man walking the very exciting gangway off the plane, mostly capturing the walls...

Philly lady loves

These past three years back in Philly have brought some fantastic ladies into my life. They surprised me at our book club with a going away party but of course I was early and ruined the surprise!! Classic Beth move right there. I honestly didn't believe them until I saw the little flag toothpicks. Along with the international foods were these badges of three Beth's: Hiking Outdoorsy Beth, Confident Traveler Beth, and Confused Lost Beth. These puppies are coming with me for sure!

As much as I'd love to identify with Confident Traveler Beth, it's been rough road to get us on a plane. Seems like every simple to do list item becomes a BIG task and crushes our daily productivity. And in case any one needs a yellow fever vaccine, there's a huge manufacturer shortage and I found the one and only one left in the Philly area so don't bother looking. It was my last day to hang with my sister and we dropped our fun plans to hang out in a distant Rite Aid. We tried not to giggle while the less than thoroughly trained staff worked with me. While I was waiting to be stuck, someone else called asking for the vaccine that night. Literally beat that person out by minutes. A little trip to the pharmacy for a shot turned into a half day annoying adventure of phone calls and a minor road trip. And that's just the tip of the iceberg.

Thank you to all of my Philly Lady Loves!! Many a Skype date will be needed this next year.

T-20 Days to Departure

But really with our four Christmas's and squeezing in friends and family time, we only have 8 more days...!! The To-Do list is pretty intense with remaining vaccines, documentation, insurance, finances, moving, packing, etc. We'll crush it like we always do and soon this heap of things to be packed will be all that we carry.
And yes that's a pocket frisbee and portable speaker. Priorities people.
